Welcome to Wickham Market Medical Centre Online

Wickham Market Medical Centre is a rural practice based in Wickham Market and also provides a branch surgery service in Rendlesham.

We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including minor surgery, minor injuries, childhood vaccinations and travel vaccinations.

You will find everything you need to know about our practice plus a wealth of health-related information in the menu on the right hand side.  Please have a look around and feedback any comments you may wish to make regarding the web site.

We are pleased to announce that we have retained our Investors in People Accreditation. The Surgery has worked very hard to keep the standard for the award and would like to thanks all the staff for their hard work on the achievement.

CHANGES TO EXTENDED HOURS...

Please note: we will no longer be offering late evening appointments on a Tuesday but will instead have a MONDAY MORNING SURGERY. Prebookable appointments will be available from 7:30am- 8:30am. Please wait outside of the front doors.

PARACETAMOL CAMPAIGN...

From the beginning of June, the CCG are running a campaign to raise public awareness of the £1M we spend on prescribed paracetamol each year. We do not think this is the best use of the NHS resources and we are keen to gather public momentum to reduce this.

Have you tried our virtual doctor?

Dr Matthew Piccaver may be able to answer some of your questions about coughs, colds, sore throats and the flu. That way, you can manage your symptoms more effectively and can understand when you should book an appointment with your GP.

It is available on your mobile, on your tablet or on your PC so wherever you are when you have a question, that question can be answered.

Ask Dr Matt a question via the website VirtTuri; you'll be surprised by just how much he knows.

Friends and Family

The Friends and Family Test is a way of gathering your feedback, so we can continually review our service.

It is one simple question:

"How likely are you to recommend our GP practice to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?"

Your feedback will help us learn more about what you think of your experience - what you like and what you think we could improve. Ultimately, you're helping us to make changes that will ensure we can offer the best possible care.

It is completely anonymous. Please collect a form from your Doctor or Reception.

Please see the following video for more information.

WICKHAM MARKET GOOD NEIGHBOUR SCHEME

Provider ImageTEL: 07914494108

ABOUT US: Wickham Market Good Neighbours can help you get back on your feet after a stay in hospital. We’re able to undertake those practical jobs which carers often don’t have the time to do.

We could help with tasks like shopping, meal preparation, clearing up , anything non-medical, to make life a little more comfortable for you. It would be very helpful if you could let us know as soon as possible when you’re likely to need this service, and we can send one of our volunteers to visit you at home to assess your needs.

AGE UK SUFFOLK DEMENTIA ADVISOR

We have a dementia advisor who will be coming to our Wickham Market surgery on the 2nd Tuesday of each month between 14:00 & 16:30

The advisor will be able to give information, advice and guidance to diagnosed patients and their carers. They will also provide ongoing support after the session through occasional follow-up phone calls and home visits when necessary.

Please make an appointment with reception if you would like to see the advisor.

Non Attendance
